Across the Middle East, families are facing devastating violence and displacement

Homes, schools, and entire communities are being torn apart, leaving millions of people struggling to stay safe and rebuild their lives.

The human cost is already severe:

• Over 1,200 people have been killed in Iran, including 168 girls in a primary school, and many more have been injured following waves of strikes across numerous cities.
• At least 10 people have been killed in Israel by missile strikes on residential areas.
• In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes have killed 486 people, including 84 children, and injured 1,313, while hundreds of thousands of civilians have been displaced from southern areas.

The escalation is unfolding alongside the ongoing crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory. In Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Israeli authorities have closed border crossings and checkpoints, severely restricting the flow of humanitarian assistance and essential supplies.

Behind every number is a family searching for safety, stability and hope

In times of conflict, women and girls often face the greatest risks—including violence, displacement, and economic hardship. When food prices rise and livelihoods collapse, they are frequently the ones carrying the heaviest burden for their families.

Across the region, ActionAid staff and local partners are working with communities in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine to deliver life-saving support as insecurity and fear continue to grow.

Our approach focuses on supporting women-led and locally led organisations, because those closest to communities understand their needs best and play a critical role in protecting families and rebuilding lives.
